In the past sixteen years as a member of Oliver Paipoonge municipal Council I have been bringing the concerns of residents to the Council table. Looking forward to the next term and the challenges and opportunities our community has ahead of us, I am asking for your support to be our next mayor.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and why I would be a good choice for your vote this October.  

I have proven skills and experience and have been an effective, dedicated member of our Council.

For over thirty years I have been a business owner and employer, operating a successful dairy and crop farm. My wife Kerri (Edwards) Kamphof and I are lifelong residents of Oliver Paipoonge and we and our three children are active in our community.

I have an extensive history in community, municipal and business leadership outlined in the links to the side of this page.

 
If elected as mayor my goals for the next term of council are:

• Work with the rest of council, municipal staff and fellow municipal leaders to get the province to commit to improvements to local and regional highways. This issue touches all of us and needs to be addressed
• Have a sound plan developed and being acted on to replace the aging Rosslyn Fire Station with an new facility that will serve our community for years to come
• Support our local farms by protecting agricultural land and encourage investment in supporting businesses
• Continue expansion and growth of our commercial and industrial tax base to help keep residential tax rates reasonable
• Invest in and improve roads and municipal assets with a clear plan to make the most efficient use of resources
• Be open and accessible to all community members, and be transparent with all information within limits of the Municipal Act
  
• Be objective, fair, inclusive, and fully committed in all matters that come before Council

My track record of business success, financial expertise, collaborative leadership, and proven problem solving are what I bring to our council. I have the experience, the dedication, and the energy to lead Oliver Paipoonge as your next mayor.

Campaign Signs

Thanks to everyone who has agreed to support me by allowing me to place a sign on your lawn or driveway. I am proud to say every sign has been placed with the permission of the home or business owner it is in front of. I believe that is important, as it is a true reflection of the level of support I have in the community. Once again, a huge thanks to everyone who has requested signs or allowed me to place them when I asked. It is great to get out and speak to a lot of you while I pound signs into the ground. If you see any of my signs blowing away in the wind or otherwise in disrepair, please email me at bernie@berniekamphof.com or call or text my cell 807 626-4733 and I will get out there and fix the problem. We will be collecting the signs within a day or two after the election, if one is on your property please leave it out and I will retrieve it then.
